Count Karlstein by Philip Pullman
No one in the village of Karlstein dares to leave their homes on All Soul’s Eve – the night Zamiel the Demon Huntsman comes to claim his prey.
But the evil Count Karlstein has struck a terrible bargain with Zamiel, and so the lives of his two nieces, Lucy and Charlotte, are in danger. Their only hope lies with Hildi, a castle maidservant. One thing is for certain – the Demon Huntsman will not return to his dark wood unsatisfied.
Did I like it? (By A aged 10)
Yes I did. I don’t think it’s Phillip Pullman’s best book ( For my opinion on that see, The Northern Lights by Phillip Pullman!) but every book Pullman writes is like they’re being written by a different author; they are all still good though!
This book is a little bit spooky for a change but it’s still very good! Remember that it is spooky but not a horror story. It has a lot of twists. I like it because it’s a bit different to what I normaly read. Over all: very good!
